We are looking for a Cloud Administrator who will sit in our headquarters in Olathe, KS and help support our Scottsdale, Arizona office. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing technology through the use of tools and scripting. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the areas of Linux administration, VM Ware, Windows and storage. This individual organizes, leads and coordinates with other parts of IT to ensure components of overall systems are managed properly. Other essential functions include:
Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s virtualized Linux and Windows server environments.
Performs and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons form small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations
Provides 24x7 on-call support
Continuously develops technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging server, storage, load balancer, and open source systems and other virtualization and cloud technologies
Communicates effectively regarding system operations and environment changes
Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictated
Demonstrates an understanding of Garmin’s Change Control process and upholds the importance of compliance.
Understands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of server, storage, load balancer, and other open source systems.
Ensures that all security requirements are met or exceeded
Performs and plans version upgrades
Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s Degree OR Master of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another technology related field AND 2 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Other requirements include:
Outstanding academics
Ability to author and implement basic scripting and coding to automate technical needs such as to move files, backup, create configuration, or other tasks
Demonstrates ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting
Consistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
A willingness to travel to Scottsdale Arizona
