BASIC FUNCTION: Performs professional level duties related to Human Resources, including responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, training, employment, recruitment, compliance, leave administration, benefits administration and events/recognition. Assists the senior manager to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with employment law.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: This position holds no direct supervisory responsibility.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Less than 5%; metro Chicago and suburbs.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Partners with employees and management to administer and communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
Maintains legal and ethical compliance with state and federal laws.
Collaborates with managers and employees to improve work relationships and build morale.
Coaches and advises managers on best practices, policies, programs or processes and how to respond to workplace issues appropriately.
Conducts internal investigations and interfaces with employees and managers to resolve employment related issues;
Facilitates the implementation of systems, programs, tools and processes designed to improve management and employee performance, productivity, engagement and results.
Maintains Human Resource Information System records with accuracy and timeliness. Compiles reports and trends analytical data.
Coordinates employee recognition programs and events.
Conducts safety investigations and maintains safety related programs.
Conducts recruitment of exempt and non-exempt personnel. Maintains accurate and timely job postings.
Assist with career development and progression.
Assists with benefits administration and communicating benefit information to employees.
Processes and monitors FMLA leaves of absence and other various leaves of absence, i.e. personal non-FMLA related.
Assists with the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.
Participates in quality assurance activities and developing department goals, objectives and processes.
Keeps abreast of new developments and regulations in the Human Resources field. Maintains current knowledge by participating in webinars, seminars and workshops.
Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the organizations standards.
Able to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professional discretion.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and three to five years of Human Resources experience, or a master's degree in HR management and two years of experience in Human Resource.
Employee relations experience in a call center environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced environment.
Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities.
Experience with Human Resources Information Systems and applicant tracking systems preferred including ADP, Microsoft Word and Excel and database software; and organizational systems.
Proven ability in areas of problem solving, independent decision making, and conflict resolution.
