We are looking for someone with substantial experience in vector design and gene therapy drug development experience to join Takeda to grow our gene therapy research effort. Be empowered and join us as a Gene Therapy Technology Lead in the Global Gene Therapy Research Team.

As the Gene Therapy Technology Lead, you will be responsible and accountable for leading technical advancement of the Gene Therapy team to test GT components internally and through external collaborations to expand the current gene therapy capabilities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Experience with new technologies that promote gene therapy drug development, including viral or non-viral gene delivery systems with insertional and gene editing technologies.

  • Mechanistic study-driven approach to work with others internally and with CROs to implement experiments.

  • Represent internal team and work with external academic and industrial collaborators to evaluate and improve new technologies.

  • Execute newly designed assays and experiments to screen potential gene therapy candidates. Knowledge and protocol transfer to associates (internally and to CROs) to complete experiments for sample analysis.

  • Independently design scientific research projects, analyzes and presents experimental data.

  • Contribute to the strategy for the project and lead communications with sub-groups within GGT and other research line team members.

  • Be the gene editing lead in project teams and works across sub-groups within Global Gene Therapy and beyond including all Drug Discovery Units (RD, NS, GI & ONC) and Preclinical and Translational Sciences (Toxicology, DMPK and more).

  • Follow compliance of documentation in electronic lab notebook and author scientific reports that supports internal documentation and regulatory submissions.


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • PhD degree in a scientific discipline with 6+ years experience

  • Experience in gene transfer and gene editing mechanisms and components. Design gene expression cassette suitable gene delivery.

  • Experience using DNA and protein sequence analysis software to design candidates in silico.

  • Experience with gene delivery and gene editing in human hemetopoetic stem cells and linages of cell types and other organs is desirable.

  • Experience progressing discovery and preclinical programs in an industry setting

  • Follow compliance of documentation in electronic lab notebook and author scientific reports that supports internal documentation and regulatory submissions.
