POSITION OBJECTIVES:


  • Reporting to the Director of Insights and Analytics, the Associate Director of Market Research in the Business Analytics and Insights group will lead market research to support the LSD and Endo Franchise within the US Rare Disease Business Unit.


  • You will provide an in-depth understanding of the brands/therapeutic areas through market research and identifying opportunities and insights to drive decision-making.


  • As a trusted advisor and partner to the brand team, you will bring strategic thinking and support to the Franchise.


  • Be a strategic partner to brand directors and senior leadership and have responsibility for communicating requirements and methodology and ensuring the execution of market research to grow the business.


  • You will focus on Lysosomal Storage Disorders and Endocrinology, with a unique opportunity of exposure of a portfolio of products within the rare disease space.



POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Accurately assesses business issues faced by business stake holders and develops appropriate market approach to address them.


  • Leads market research projects independently to support the brand strategy, including identification of market research needs, vendor selection, design, execution, and interpretation of market research studies.


  • Acts as a strategic partner to the brand team, contributing to brand planning/design and translating market research insights and data into actionable recommendations.


  • Proactively identifies insight needs/gaps and recommends approaches to address these needs.


  • Explores innovative techniques to address business questions.


  • Works closely with the brand team to generate a market research plan to meet brand needs and demonstrates the ability to modify and prioritize the plan as needs change.


  • Creates proposed budgets for market research plans to assist franchises in planning.


  • Understands the overall, potentially disruptive, market dynamics that the brands compete in and assists with translating competitive insights into valuable intelligence and recommendations to leadership


  • Prepares and delivers presentations with meaningful implications, actionable insights and recommendations which clearly delineate pros and cons to senior executive leadership in a timely manner.


  • Key contributor to Situational Analysis during brand planning by consolidating critical/relevant insights from yearly information-gathering activities


  • Collaborates with analytics team to incorporate both insights and analytics into actionable recommendations to the brand team.


  • Helps build and pressure-test market research assumptions based on market research findings.

  • Expertise with research methods to bring the voice of the customer to inform product messaging, and to understand and track consumer attitudes and behavior


  • Well-versed with a variety of primary market research methodologies; demonstrated track record of sourcing and deploying state-of-art techniques


  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience partnering with advanced analytics professionals

  • Supports LSD/Endo Franchise, working with internal business partners including Marketing, Patient Services, Legal, Medical, Market Access Sales and Global along with external vendors supporting market research projects.


EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Health Sciences or related discipline / Business Administration.


  • MBA/PharmD preferred.


  • 10+ years of work experience preferred with 6+ years of relevant market research and matrix partner management required.


  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech or relevant consulting experience required.


  • Knowledge and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards surrounding market research.


  • Project planning and management skills.


  • Vendor and budget management.



TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel, ~20%
