As Lead Software Engineer, you will develop and execute key technology components of the Group Platform Transformation. Group Benefits Platform Transformation (GPT) is one of the key initiatives that will drive the success of the Group Benefits growth strategy. It is one of the largest programs within Guardian today. This is not just a multiyear program to re-platform, it is the future of how we transform as a business: bringing a comprehensive Leave and Absence Management suite of offerings to Guardian Insurance customers. This role will work directly with solution architects, cross-functional stakeholders and development team members to define, design and deliver the technical solutions that will support the business's vision, strategy and goals. The role will specifically support the objectives aligned with the GPT Program, implementing absence functionality across multiple workstreams.
You Will:
Gather and analyze data and develop requirements at project level
Develop complex solutions in an Agile environment as part of a global team of engineers, designers, and product experts
Conduct and lead technical design discussions across multiple technology disciplines to propose viable solutions to complex problems
Liaise between software engineering teams and production support to facilitate operational readiness. Provide level 3 support for escalated issues/defects.
Develop and build strong relationships across the business to effectively influence and accomplish strategic objectives.
Assist on-shore and off-shore teams with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems and/or programming knowledge. Mentor and develop new or less experienced team members.
Provide technical training to external team members to foster stronger cross-departmental relations.

You Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
8 years of professional software development experience
Experience with service-oriented and cloud native software architectures
Experience with a broad range of technologies including React JS, .NET/C#, .NET Core, OOPS, MVC, SQL, Web API, Entity Framework, LINQ and ORM
Experience with modern web application development, including build tools, testing and CI/CD
Experience with secure programming practices, software delivery and cloud security principles
Experience with cloud technology including AWS, Docker, Kafka, SNS/SQS
Experience with source control and development workflows: Bitbucket, Git
Familiarity with API architectures including microservice strategy
Proven ability to take leadership role in projects that span multiple teams, ability to deliver on time working in a fast-paced agile environment
Proven track record of developing and supporting large scale business critical systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; solid understanding of coding aesthetics, able to review code, and provide suggestions
Must be comfortable in a fast pace, changing environment
Has strong presentation and collaboration skills and can clearly articulate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation
Deep subject matter expertise with Absence Management SaaS platform (LeavePro) will be particularly advantageous
