Overview:

• Develop, update, organize, and maintain engineering standards and specifications


• Develop, update, organize, and maintain engineering policies, procedures, and practices


• Investigates new products and materials and performs technical studies including calculations


• Prepare technical reports including root cause analysis conclusions and recommendations


• Provides engineering and technical guidance and support to professional and bargaining unit employees in the office and the field


• Consult with and receives advice from superiors, peers, and vendors to become thoroughly familiar with an assignment, and to obtain necessary design and cost information to provide recommendations to appropriate stakeholders


• Provides assistance, technical support, and training to field operations personnel during normal and emergency conditions


• Maintains familiarity with current codes, regulations, standards, and safety practices impacting equipment, materials, and tools used by the company


• Storm Duty Responsibilities as assigned


• Administrative and other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Required:

• Roles at this level require a 4 year ABET-Accredited Engineering degree.


• Must have excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills


• Must have excellent technical writing capabilities


• Position to be filled at Associate I, II, III or IV based on experience and education.

Education/Experience Preferred:

• Utility experience preferred


• Standards and specifications experience preferred

Office Environment:

Work will be conducted in a hybrid environment with some time working remotely, and some time required to be in-office/on-site. Candidates must be within close proximity to Pittsburgh.
