Director, eCommerce & Digital at The Boston Beer Company in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description:

Over the past few years, Boston Beer has built a strong eCommerce capability within our Sales organization. We are now looking to transform our enterprise-wide digital capabilities to encompass a stronger omni-channel approach, with further integration between our sales and marketing efforts.

The ideal leader for our Digital efforts will be a broad thinker, one who is comfortable setting an ambitious vision and getting organizational buy-in for this vision. They will also be adept at working in and leading in a cross-functional environment.

We are currently hiring a Director of eCommerce & Digital in Boston or Remote.

What You'll Do:

• Collaborate across sales, brand development and IT to lead enterprise initiatives that support building the business across new channels and winning omnichannel with seamless brand experience


• Take an enterprise-wide platform view as we look to define and develop new digital capabilities


• Be a change agent to support 'bigger ideas' through of integration commercial programs that grow our brands across omnichannel


• Lead external vendor and retail partnerships important to delivering success (e.g. Walmart ecommerce, Kroger click-list, Target pickup, Instacart, etc)


• Partner with IT organization to build and maintain technology solutions


• Partner with Creative team, bringing a digital-first mindset to content development


• Partner with brand social leaders to deliver content consistently across platforms


• Design, hire, and develop team responsible for executing strategy


• Establish omnichannel performance metrics for what success looks like and further elevate Boston Beer as a leader vs. other suppliers to deliver with wholesalers and retailers


• 20-30% travel

What We're Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience within eCommerce and/or digital


• 5+ years experience leading teams in CPG companies


• 5+ years experience building eCommerce platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree


• Experience with relevant grocery/retail environment


• Beverage alcohol experience


• Proven ability to implement and execute programs in support of corporate strategy


• Proven capability of handling complex program management


• Proven cross-functional leadership (internal or external)


• Ability to partner in a matrixed environment, influencing stakeholders


• Strong critical thinking and resolution in ambiguous situations


• Ability to work without direct supervision and set own work direction within the context of the position


• Ability to influence key stakeholders across the function and ability to adapt quickly and demonstrate flexibility across many functional responsibilities
