SUMMARY:
Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers. May assist or train new and junior-level supervisors, and act as backup to Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following, however, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises production employees in his/her area of responsibility and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Calls upon people management expertise to provide guidance to subordinates or junior supervisors. Mentors team leads and junior supervisors for personal development. Must focus on creating and maintaining an engaged workforce, with dedication to operating safely, producing quality products, and continuously improving the production area as related to process and key performance indicators (ex: scrap, cost, utilization).
