Dewberry has an immediate full-time opening for an experienced Site/Civil Project Engineer in the Baltimore, Maryland office. The selected candidate will become part of a growing team that practices total project consulting and provides complete, comprehensive services to a wide variety of clients.

This position requires subject matter knowledge and breadth/depth experience to move projects from concept to completion including planning/zoning, horizontal and vertical layout work through complete site design in AutoCAD/Civil 3D to permits and construction phase services.

Responsibilities

Project work will span street, parking lot, trail, and sidewalk design, utility- storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, and conduits- design, plans and profiles, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control design, maintenance of traffic, landscaping, grading and earthwork, cost estimating, plan and permit processing, and technical writing.
• Assists with scope and fee determinations for proposed engineering services,


• Assists with preparation of weekly schedules and task coordination.


• Assists with training/mentoring of staff and bolstering of the QA/QC process.


• Coordinates design review process and permitting through outside agencies and assistance with client coordination.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (design based degree)


• 4+ years of experience in design and construction of site/civil, land development and infrastructure projects; experience in Baltimore and Washington DC metro area preferred.


• PE or be eligible for licensure/registration in the State of Maryland.


• Strong capabilities and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or equivalent model based drafting platform, MS office and other regular programs of daily use in office setup.


• Proficiency with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software is preferred.


• Excellent written, oral and graphic communication skills required for effective interface with public agencies, clients, sub-consultants and staff.
