Description

Crain Communications Inc., one of the largest privately-owned business publishers in the U.S., is seeking an experienced full-time Recruiter. The work can be performed remotely or from one of our main offices in either Detroit, New York or Chicago.

In this role, you will play an integral part in executing our talent acquisition strategy and attracting top-tier talent to work for Crain communications. You will have the opportunity to develop strong partnerships with our business leaders and hiring managers to match qualified candidates to open positions across the organization. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Recruiter will manage the full lifecycle recruiting process and have the following responsibilities:


  • Apply best practices to build a pipeline of top tier candidates for specified positions, regardless of level.


  • Creatively and successfully source passive candidates using direct sourcing, web research, networking, social networks (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), professional associations, referrals, applicant tracking system, etc.


  • Provide an exceptional hiring team and candidate experience.


  • Establish and monitor standards/measurements that assure quality and timeliness of hires.


  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager, hiring manager, and Regional Director HR to outline hiring strategies.


  • Process online applications and analyze resumes for potential match.


  • Conduct all initial phone interview screens to assess candidate's skill level and cultural fit.


  • Coordinate interviews with appropriate hiring teams; gather and provide timely feedback while ensuring an efficient recruiting process.


  • Update and manage all recruiting reports.


  • Manage reference checking for specified positions.


  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure we're delivering an exceptional employee experience.


  • Participate in and or lead ad-hoc talent acquisition projects as assigned.


Required qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field is required.


  • Minimum of 5+ years of high volume, professional recruiting experience, specifically with focus on digital, media and technology.


  • Experience with Workday recruiting and knowledge of related business processes.


  • National recruiting experience required, including strong networks in Detroit, Chicago and New York.


  • Experience with direct sourcing, web research, networking, social networks, professional associations, referrals, applicant tracking system, etc.


  • Demonstrated business acumen as it relates to incorporating strategy and direction into recruiting processes.


  • Keen analytical ability demonstrated by the ability to analyze and respond to needs and to measure outcomes.


  • Strong written and oral communication skills with all organization levels.


  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing high quality, hard to find, experienced, professional candidates.


  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and to produce results.


  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, understand and respond to the needs of internal candidates and to create and manage a constant pipeline of highly qualified candidates.


This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
