Enterprise function to bring producers, and consumers of data, along with technology and business leaders together to drive strategic data vision for the organization and enable data driven decisions
Position Overview: This is a key leadership role in driving business ownership of data and creating a forum for data leaders across the organization to engage and drive a data driven culture. This role is responsible for working with various stakeholders to ensure that the people, process and technology required to enable the stewardship function to be successful is in place, and drive sustainable improvements and adoption of the the Enterprise data management strategy
Responsibilities:
Identify Data Stewards across various domains
Establish clear roles and responsibilities and operating model for the stewardship function
Manage a team of enterprise Data Stewards who will partner across various domain areas driving adoption and adhering to the governance policy and standards
Coordinate across the organization, working with various stakeholders and data Stewards to drive consistency and develop repeatable processes to manage data as a strategic asset
Enable development of capabilities and processes that support the stewardship function and enable it to be successful
Run meetings with stewardship community on a regular basis to ensure ongoing engagement and drive strong partnership to solve key data challenges for the organization
Drive data ownership and accountability with the business and technical data stewards
Work with the Data Management leader to run the executive data council by bringing strategic topics to the council often with proposed options and drive strategic data decisions
Competencies:
Strong knowledge and understanding of core data management principles - metadata, Data quality and governance capabilities
Ability to engage effectively across various groups and drive engagement
Strong communication skills; ability to influence at all levels and foster lasting partnerships
Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements
Ability to think beyond current state (people, process and technology) and work towards an unconstrained, optimized model
Ability to thrive in an evolving organization and bring structure to unstructured situations
Ability to arbitrate on difficult decisions and drive consensus through a diplomatic approach
Experience and Qualification:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years experience leading data governance/management and stewardship function
Experience working at enterprise scale and ability to engage effectively across lines of business
