Position Description:
The Financial Analyst, Clinical Accrual, will provide support for the company's clinical accrual process. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, show a willingness to learn, and be a team player. This individual will play an active role in the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
Position Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interpret R&D contracts and determine appropriate accrual schedules and/or models
• Update clinical site accrual models based on current patient enrollment data and latest site budgets
• Prepare CRO/vendor spending files for monthly accruals
• Examine all clinical invoices and identify and populate accrual schedule accordingly
• Ensure that monthly clinical accrual schedule is complete and ready for manager review
• Perform quarterly reconciliation of site accrual models
• Support internal and external audit initiatives with retrieval of contracts, invoices and any other pertinent information needed to answer auditors' questions
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• No supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education:
• BS/BA degree in related discipline and three years of related experience; or,
• MS/MA degree in related discipline and one year of related experience; or,
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
• Experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
• Must have strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
• Experience working in or closely with accounting on financial close activities
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
• Team player with the ability to work independently, proactively, and effectively under pressure
• Systems oriented, experience with SAP ERP system preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, advanced skills preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Environment: primarily working indoors in an office setting
