The Release Engineer 2 works cross-organizationally to introduce applications and infrastructure changes into the production environment. The Release Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
The Release Engineer 2 is responsible for ensuring all changes are delivered to user while maintaining the integrity and availability of the existing systems. Communicate release expectations across all impacted users. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Humana Pharmacy has a mail-order dispensing location in West Chester, Ohio. This Release Engineer 2 role will provide on-site support for the software infrastructure in this location. The role requires a deep understanding of the Microsoft Windows server and workstation environment, as well as SQL Server and the .NET architecture. This RE2 will also provide support and guidance for less junior members of the team. Occasional weekend and off-hours work is required. RE2 must be able to work collaboratively with our internal client, Operations, and subject matter experts throughout the enterprise. This role also requires the ability to work in an operational, and occasionally distractive environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
3-5 years of relevant work experience
Detailed understanding of SQL and report writing
Detailed understanding of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and/ or Agile methodology
Strong analytical ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Knowledge and understanding of PowerShell
