Job Summary

This position will focus on establishing an enterprise data hub and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, across all Business functions and geographies to improve the quality and use of information to drive speed to market, efficiency, and profitability.

The Data Architecture & Governance Leader will shape and drive our cloud-first data strategy and provide technical leadership to our emerging data & analytics team. She will play a pivotal role in defining the data architecture roadmap, as well as design, create, deploy and manage Amneal's data architecture in Microsoft Azure and determine how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed across Amneal's functions, geographical entities, and multiple cloud-based SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solutions.

The Data Architecture & Governance Leader serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.

Essential Functions


  • Enterprise Data Governance: Be an evangelist and educator to help the organization become more sophisticated in its use of data and help create a data-informed culture.

    • Lead data management program to grow Amneal’s data literacy, including training and organizational change management to embrace a data-informed culture.

    • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance process including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities. 

    • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.

    • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets.

    • Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace / represent data as a strategic business asset at the Senior Management table.

    • Liaise between Business Units, Functional areas and technology to ensure that business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.

    • Resolve issues escalated from Business Units and Functional areas data governance representatives.



  • Enterprise Data Architecture:

    • Develop & maintain inventory of enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners.  Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.

    • Create an end-to-end vision for how data will flow through Amneal Pharmaceuticals from R&D and Regulatory, to Quality, to Sourcing & Manufacturing, to Sales and Distribution, to Corporate Functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Corporate Development)

    • Provide Architectural leadership and vision for Amneal’s Data Platform and Data Lake. Develop and maintain architectural roadmap for data products and data services plus ensuring alignment with the business and enterprise architecture strategies and standards.

    • Oversee and sign off key architecture artifacts.



  • Data Platform Development, Operations, and Support:

    • Provide leadership and guidance on design and management of data for data applications, formulate best practices and organize processes for data management, governance and evolution. Build processes and tools to maintain high data availability, quality and maintainability

    • Contribute to the EDP strategies and roadmap development to meet business objectives with existing or emerging technologies. Ability to translate business concepts to technical terms. Understands and communicates company goals and objectives

    • Apply creative thinking/approach to determine technical solutions that further business goals and align with corporate technology strategies, keeping in mind performance, reliability, scalability, usability, security, flexibility, and cost.

    • Articulate technology solutions as well as explain the competitive advantages of various technology alternatives.

    • Collaborate with the key stakeholders, other product development groups and software vendors to identify and define solutions for complex business and technical requirements.

    • Define and drive technology standard and best practices in the Data Platform areas, and lead key projects.

    • Engage with Data Platform customers/partners to understand their needs and provide suggestions/guidance on what data platform techniques are appropriate to solve their problems with pros/cons articulated clearly.

    • Drive internal proof of concept initiatives. When needed, quickly design and implement a prototype of a system or component with a proper architecture, and then hand over to (may lead) a small group of devs to finish.



  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers and business intelligence architects. Provides mentoring and support to strengthen team.

Education


  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Science or related field - Required

  • Master Degree (MS/MA) in Related Field - Preferred

Work Experience


  • 12 years or more Experienced technology leader with a minimum of 12+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years of data application or data platform architecture experience with deep technology expertise - Required

  • 12 years or more Technical breadth and depth - Required

  • 12 years or more Business-technical communication skills - Required

  • 12 years or more Big data // machine learning // artificial intelligence - Preferred

  • 12 years or more Data / management science - Preferred
