POSITION TITLE

Direct Materials Sourcing Manager -Textile Division

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Direct Materials Sourcing Manager is responsible for ownership of sourcing of over $150 million in annual spend supporting numerous manufacturing locations in the United States and Mexico for specific Business Units in Milliken's Textile Division. Expectations are to continuously deliver value to the business via strategic sourcing, cost reduction, supplier performance management, supply market monitoring and risk management. This position requires extremely strong negotiation skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence, the ability to develop a deep understanding of their assigned portfolio, the ability to work effectively with senior leadership of key suppliers, and the ability to develop deep collaborative relationship with the R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Business Leaders in the Textile Division.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for creating and implementing the Sourcing Strategy for major commodities that will include various fibers, yarns, and resins.

  • Develop and implement management strategies with key suppliers to ensure the availability of raw materials and product to meet the needs of specific Business Units in Milliken's Textiles Division and strive for continuous improvement from suppliers in cost, delivery, and quality.

  • Ensure supply of materials to meet the needs of the assigned Division Business Units or Manufacturing Location, including strategy for risk mitigation.

  • Ensure that Milliken interactions with suppliers do not compromise primary or secondary business strategies relative to enablement of competitors.

  • Own communication flow to and from suppliers, including timely communications to necessary stake holders in the Textile Division.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED


  • Sourcing, engineering, and/or manufacturing experience

  • Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) a plus

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in related field: Business, Textiles, Manufacturing, Chemistry, Engineering, etc.

  • 2 - 5 years of applicable commercial sales, purchasing or sourcing experience

  • Experience leading, or participating in, new product development and/or process improvement projects

  • Experience working in close collaboration with commercial product development and/or manufacturing teams

  • Manufacturing plant floor, supply chain, and/or plant accounting experience a plus

  • Experience traveling internationally and working with companies in all regions of the world a plus

  • Experience using online tools and analytics

  • High degree of personal accountability, results orientated with a track record of beating commitments.

  • Bias for understanding business needs and the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence with internal stakeholders

  • Demonstrated strategic sourcing and negotiation skills, knowledge in contract negotiations and administration of contracts

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to influence and facilitate cross-functional teams involving multiple functions with competing goals

  • Strong bias for continuous improvement; professionally curious and open to change.

  • Extremely emotionally intelligent with ability to rapidly assess situations and adjust demeanor to positively influence interactions

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to present to all levels of the organization and key suppliers.

  • Ability to rapidly assess and positively resolve dynamic business conditions which may include unplanned supply disruptions.

  • Ability to facilitate collaboration and drive improvements in the procurement process.

  • Proficient in SAP (or similar ERP), Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Excellent analytical skills. Proficient in data analysis and presentation.
