The Job Details are as follows:

The Enterprise Identity Management team, an OCLC Shared Service, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our well-knit group of developers. We provide Identity Management, Authentication and Authorization services to many OCLC products. A diverse landscape of frameworks, applications, and services, which have diverse and challenging problems, affords candidates the opportunity to exercise their talents and grow.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, interpreting, and refining product requirements


• Using industry standard techniques, craft implementation strategies, code and test them within the applications and services ecosystem in a timely manner


• Participates in unit, system and acceptance testing by designing tests, building test data, test execution and evaluation, along with recommending and making improvements or fixes to the tested systems


• Contribute to long-term code maintainability through peer review


• Provide support for the applications and services in all environments, including production

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a Computer Science-related discipline required


• At least 5-7 years of software development experience


• Good oral and written communication and presentation skills


• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills


• Strong work ethic and accountability


• Strong desire to innovate and learn new technologies


• Strong Java skills with 5+ years coding experience


• Experience in responsive web development


• Experience in object-oriented programming


• Understanding of database design principles


• Understanding of basic networking technologies


• Use of Atlassian Agile technologies - JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket


• Experience preferred in: Spring frameworks, Hibernate, MVC, RESTful web services, HTML/JavaScript, JSON, Maven/Gradle, git, IntelliJ, Linux, MySQL, React/Redux
