Division Chief, Solid Organ Transplant at Nemours in Wilmington, Delaware

Job Description:

The Division of General Surgery of Nemours Children's Health at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is recruiting a board-certified pediatric surgeon to serve as the Division Chief of Solid Organ Transplant.

This full-time physician leader will work with our strategic partnership team to enrich our growing academic community initiatives and build community surgical practices in collaboration with our Delaware Valley Nemours Partnership and Leadership Team. This role will be responsible for community outreach, optimization of surgical clinical operations, and serving as a liaison to Delaware Valley clinical partners and referring physicians.

The candidate's daytime clinical assignment will include the practice of pediatric general surgery at Bryn Mawr Hospital and Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health. The Division Chief of Solid Organ Transplant initial focus will include both enhancement of existing services and development of new surgical services through our Main Line Health and Jefferson Health partners. Abington is located 17 miles north of Philadelphia, with easy access to New York and Washington, DC. Bryn Mawr is located 15 miles west of Philadelphia.

The candidate will report to the Chairman, Department of Surgery for all Liaison and operational needs, and to the Chief of the Division of General Surgery for academic mission initiatives. Academic appointment is through the Department of Surgery, Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University.

Academically, the Division Chief of Solid Organ Transplant are considered members of the Division of General Surgery and the Department of Surgery and will participate in weekly General Surgery, conferences and the monthly, multi-regional conference for Nemours Enterprise General Surgery encompassing all Nemours campuses.
