POSITION SUMMARY
At HealthSmart, the EPMO II Senior Project Manager drives matrix project teams to deliver on strategic projects. The EPMO II Senior Project Manager is able to insert themselves into a business or IT problem, analyze, and provide solutions.
Education and Skill Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
5 years of demonstrable Healthcare project management experience with a preference for candidates that have been in Healthcare and in a small to medium sized company
3 years of experience in Information Technology
Healthcare experience (with strong preference given to Payer experience as well as experience in Specialty and/or Rx)
Strong communication (written and oral), interpersonal, team, and conflict resolution skills
Experience with project turnaround/remediation
Experience working as a PM in a PMO supporting matrix project teams
Agile certification preferred but not required
PMP preferred but not required
Six Sigma certification (any belt) preferred but not required if demonstrable evidence exist of using this approach (Results)
Higher education preferred but not required
Experience in delivering projects in any following areas highly desired; Information Technology, Claims, Pharmacy, Care Management, Healthcare Networks
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time professional position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office and 2 remote, depending on need

Insert self into an IT, Operational or Business problem, analyze the situation, make recommendations, and implement change to bring the process back in tolerance. This is often done with a Six Sigma methodology approach
Interfaces with Senior Executive Leadership, IT Leaders, Business Leaders and individual contributors to move strategic projects to completion
Develops initial risk assessments for their projects and manages risks and issues in a tenacious manner, escalating before being late/over budget or an impact to scope occurs
Provides clear and concise Executive Status reports and Daily tracking reports (where applicable) if the project is at risk or off track
Delivers projects on time
Monitors and tracks critical path items/key milestones and dependencies well in advance of their due dates
Monitors QA progress against plan and helps manage defect priorities and knock down roadblocks daily during the QA execution cycle
Supports date-driven projects by adjusting scope and/or cost as needed to hit the schedule constraint
Issues staffing plans with real names, including people's vacations, training, applicable holidays, etc.
For projects in red or yellow status implements daily tracking immediately
Reviews and understands high-level business requirement artifacts and works with the project stakeholders to eliminate ambiguity or grey areas; ensures approvals from all business and IT stakeholders are secured
All PCRs must be submitted in advance of the change occurring, and the cost is not incurred unless approval has been secured first
Continuously captures Lessons Learned throughout lifecycle of the projects
Complies with standard closeout process - includes Lessons Learned, Scorecards updated, auditing vendor timesheets, Knowledge Transfer to Operations, final documents posted to SharePoint, etc.
Collaborate with business and technology departments to define deliverables and develop solutions that are reusable across the organization
Develop financial models and tools, including cost-benefit analysis, resource utilization models and performance reports when needed for the project
