Primary Role



The Infrastructure Engineer – Telephony will be primary responsible for the evolution of the telephony environments and solutions while managing and optimizing the current environment.  This person will have a balanced mix of big-picture thinking while driving operational excellence.  This person will participate as an effective member of a passionate, highly skilled, collaborative team that supports American Water's information security policies and meets all relevant compliance requirements.  Our ideal candidate will need to have experience with Cisco CUCM 11.X & 12.X, Cisco Unity Connection 11.X & 12.X, Call Handlers, Cisco Jabbar 12.X Finesse, CER, Cubes, and Voice Gateways.





Knowledge/Skills



Technical Skills

•    Expert knowledge and experience of the Internet Protocol (IP), including protocols such as SIP, H.323, MGCP and their integrations in large-scale networks.

•    Experience in new site implementation from IPT perspective.

•    Experience with integration of Cisco VOIP products with Microsoft Teams, Audio Codecs and Right Fax.

•    Extensive knowledge/experience with Cisco TDM/ IP voice systems and components, plus PRI T1, FXS, FXO, SCCP, SIP Trunking, SRST.

•    Experience with integration of Cisco CUCM with the Cisco UCCE environment. 

•    Hands-on experience with deployment, upgrade and migration of Unified products.

•    Hands-on troubleshooting experience on VOIP products and providing on-call support to team for escalated issues. 

Knowledge

•    Five (5) plus years experience / knowledge in information technology with an emphasis on telephony solutions.

•    Experience in leadership with a proven track record for delivering desired outcomes while fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, innovation and talent development

•    Strong verbal and written communication skills for a wide variety of audiences including proven ability to deliver conference presentations

•    Strong decision making ability and flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

•    Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and to deliver results through others while overcoming obstacles to success

•    Should possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and an ability to work well under pressure

 





Experience/Education




  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or relevant field of Engineering . Master's degree is preferred

  • Indoor office environment

  • Travel Requirements

  • As necessary, up to 15%.
