The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Quality Manager Outsourcing Services, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Managing the quality program for facility and outpatient coding and auditing for our outsourcing services group

  • Prepare quality reporting for both facility and outpatient/profee clients by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends from coding partners and internal 3M staff.

  • Maintain service quality by enforcing quality assurance standards, policies and procedures, and government requirements for both facility and outpatient/profee coding

  • Establish product quality documentation system and implement quality assurance procedures for facility clients.

  • Maintain quality assurance processes and procedures for outpatient/profee clients

  • Oversight of the monthly quality process for all facility and outpatient/profee clients to assure 3M quality metrics are achieved.  

  • Establish and maintain coding remediation processes for all clients and coders

  • Incorporate and facilitate team training for new regulatory changes related to facility and outpatient/profee coding and reimbursement, as appropriate

  • Participate in new client onboarding to design and implement the quality program for both facility and outpatient/profee clients

  • Provide subject matter expert guidance related to both facility and outpatient coding and reimbursement

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or reviewing professional publications

  • Ability to resolve quality issues and escalations as needed

  • Manage the career development and performance of the employees directly reporting to this role.

  • Handles special projects as assigned by the Senior Manager of outsourcing services.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university

-OR-

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience in Health Information


  • Seven (7) combined years of experience in quality and/or health information management/administration

  • RHIA/RHIT, CCS or other AHIMA/AAPC credentials

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution 

  • Experience in facility coding and auditing

  • Strong knowledge of DRG’s

  • Experience with coding and quality assurance for most outpatient (professional and technical) coding specialties including Evaluation and Management (E/M) services

  • Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles and government regulation and policies

  • At least 3 years of experience in managing direct reports

  • Excellent customer service and customer relation skills

Location: Remote

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
