The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Providing direct supervision to assigned employees as part of a 4-crew rotation through leadership, coaching, training, development, allocating work assignments, and utilizing performance feedback.


• Leading team members working on defined work crews as part of 4-crew rotations with weekly scheduled hours up to and including 7 x 24 hour coverage.


• Planning daily work schedules, determining priorities, allocating work assignments, and regulating production processes to meet specific daily production requirements.


• Meeting plant and department objectives in the areas of safety, quality, service, productivity, and employee engagement.


• Supporting shift administration activities such as time reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)


• Three (3) years of manufacturing and/or production experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Previous experience in supervision of direct hourly reports


• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)


• Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional team environment.


• Experience in converting operations including slitting and packaging of roll goods.


• Lean Six Sigma experience


• Knowledge of computer programs and 3M corporate systems relevant to Plant Operations

Travel: May include up to 2% Domestic

Location: Brookings, SD
