The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
 

As a Resident Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.   The Resident Project Engineer will support one of the following 3M manufacturing locations: Aberdeen SD, Brookings SD, Decatur AL, Guin AL, Little Rock AR, Maplewood MN, Nevada MO, Springfield MO, Tonawanda NY or Valley NE. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Managing capital investment projects in support of 3M manufacturing and laboratory facilities


• Successfully interacting with multiple discipline teams including 3M plant personnel, consultants and suppliers


• Specifying equipment performance and design criteria


• Estimating capital equipment and installation costs


• Defining and executing competitive bidding strategy


• Overseeing plant equipment layout and design


• Coordinating construction activity


• Leading equipment commissioning

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Currently possess or in the final year of pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Currently possess or in the final year of pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution


• Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 Scale


• Prior internship/co-op experience with 3M or another manufacturing company


• Prior experience involving the design, build, operation, and/or maintenance of manufacturing equipment


• Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment


• Project Management experience


• Strong oral and written communications skills


• Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Location:  Remote may be an option

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
