This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled DEI manager to leverage their expertise and actively drive Springer Nature’s global DEI strategy. The Manager, Global DEI (Data Projects) will be responsible for driving global projects with a self-driven and organized approach.  This role will also serve as the geographic partner to teams across the business to support putting our DEI strategy into practice locally. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, global DEI team of 4 people and report to the Director Global DEI based in Berlin, Germany. The seniority of this role will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Springer Nature’s DEI team is currently hiring for two roles, with either to be located in the US or Europe.

The mature, collaborative DEI team drives a resourced and aligned 3 year DEI strategy with substantial support and buy-in from Springer Nature’s executive team. The DEI team has already accomplished many key milestones such as setting global representation targets, implementing training globally, conducting a global inclusion & diversity survey and setting up a representative and diverse DEI council. You will join a team that delivers high-quality and ambitious projects with necessary buy-in from strategic stakeholders and in close collaboration with our global  Employee Networks. 

Responsibilities


  • Help integrate the DEI strategy into business processes including recruitment, performance management, leadership development, employee engagement and retention

  • Reliably drive data-centric strategic global DEI projects for example: global DEI survey, representation goal setting 

  • Manage data reporting for the DEI team including designing team metrics and generating quarterly reports of data

  • Build and monitor diversity metrics to ensure effective implementation and impact

  • Communicate through presentations and written content globally and locally to raise visibility of DEI efforts

  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders and business leaders for DEI problem-solving

  • Coordinate with key stakeholder groups such as DEI Council, Human Resources, Advocates and Employee Networks to ensure alignment with strategy

Experience, Skills and Qualifications



  • Professional experience in a previous DEI or HR Role, with knowledge of HR processes (such as talent management processes, performance management, engagement and retention) and DEI research, benchmarks and best practices




  • Database and data analytical skills including Excel, Google Sheets and/or Tableau




  • Hands-on project management experience with the ability to translate complex ideas into manageable and structured tasks




  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills to consult and build solid relationships with stakeholders 




  • Strong intercultural awareness and experience working within a complex and high pace international organization




  • Self-motivated, flexible, resilient and able to work independently as part of a global team




  • Fluent English language skills





  • Ability to travel internationally when required
