ABOUT THIS POSITION

The AUM Team is responsible for monitoring, cleansing and reporting the Firm’s Assets Under Management and Cash Flows in a timely and accurate manner.

The Lead Manager role will be accountable for supporting these efforts through project related work to include support of the production team and environment, leading system enhancements and automations, requirements gathering, data analysis, and user testing.  They are expected to have a high level of technical expertise and/or deep business knowledge. This individual provides analysis of complex topics and needs to be solution focused. This individual will have leadership responsibilities and may have a team of direct reports.

This position concentrates on understanding, assisting and implementing AUM strategy, and building partnerships with business and technology partners across the firm.   Managing risk is a key component of the role through institution and enforcement of appropriate team and system processes and data governance.  The Sr. Analyst oversees and owns projects, providing technical expertise, and setting budget/scope/schedule. The position may also responsible for instituting and enforcing Data Governance around the reporting of assets and flows of the firm.

ROLE SUMMARY

Requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in data and reporting, preferably with specific knowledge of Assets Under Management and working knowledge of related disciplines such as recordkeeping, distribution areas, investment and product. Leads projects or work streams within broader projects. Accountable for work of self and sometimes others, provides process and standards advice in area of specialty.   Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Independently provides advanced data management and reporting capabilities support and full life-cycle data analysis. Works directly with a cross-functional team to ensure data are regarded as accurate, timely, reliable, and trusted by business stakeholders. Serves as the primary point of contact for management of complex data sets and related data requests. Also serves as point of contact and participates in data governance discussions that span across multiple business units.

  • Acts as a consultant to the business on complex data and reporting requests. Ensures that data reporting and analyses provided to internal clients and stakeholders is done in a timely manner and is of the highest level of quality. Provides analysis and recommendations for current and future needs, which minimize redundancy and maximize compatibility of data within and across the business unit and firm. Escalates data protection/privacy issues as necessary. Provides guidance on data issues identified by more junior professionals.

  • Implements processes and controls for the creation, ingestion, consumption, and/or destruction of data. Contributes to cross-functional projects. Ensures project goals are in line with data management goals in terms of data and reporting needs. Partners with internal stakeholders to translate complex definitions and content to ensure model and reporting adoption.

  • Administers the testing of new systems and contributes to system development. Leads investigations, analyses, and evaluations to determine enhancement feasibility and implications for data accuracy. Makes recommendations to more senior professionals based on findings.

  • Performs data curation and governance activities, including developing and supporting technical workflows and developing operational data management reports and metrics, enhancing existing models, and building and supporting frameworks and processes. Trains junior professionals and support staff to understand the data and data management operational processes.

  • Proactively monitors and manages complex data sets. Implements and executes data quality and maintenance programs in alignment with T. Rowe Price policies and procedures. Evangelizes best practices for the business.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 5+ years of total relevant work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced Skills with Microsoft Access and Excel

Experience working with large data bases

Intermediate SQL writing skills

Project Management experience

Strategic thinker & problem-solver with proven ability to actively participate in execution to drive success. 

Proven ability to approach strategic execution with commercial decision-making

Excellent negotiation skills & ability to influence. 

Ability to take on people leadership

Product knowledge related to Assets Under Management

Intermediate MicroStrategy experience

Excellent presentation, writing and analytical skills

Proven ability to research, identify, interpret, and prioritize business data needs and issues
