Background/Role Summary:

Reporting to the Business Optimization Officer, this person will be responsible for driving Medicare Advantage bid goals and strategic oversight of our Medicare Advantage bids. This person will sit on the Business Optimization team.

Bid


  • Leads a strategy focused on optimizing bid outcomes to support out multiyear growth goals. Supporting Business Optimization Officer in implementing goals across the markets. This is a multifaceted role, including project management, people leadership, operational business readiness planning, and technology capability/systemic enhancement release approval. Works continually with matrix partners over the life cycle to evolve the business to ensure business outcomes are reached.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Drives evaluation and implementation of strategic initiatives to inform our Medicare Advantage annual bids
  • Leads near and long term strategic oversight of Cigna Medicare Advantage bids development, improving quality and value to our customers and helping to drive industry leading growth.
  • Works in strong partnership with Pricing, Product, Sales & Marketing and our Market organizations to optimize efficiency and transparency of goals, c ommunicate goals across the Medicare segment as well as to senior leadership
  • Mandate certain benefits/categories: Affordability, Administration, Ease of use/STAR's. Create a rules of the road guide.
  • In collaboration with the Product Team and Actuary Team, develops and maintains a strategic plan that supports the organization's vision, margin and its short term and long-term strategy. Meets or exceeds outcomes consistent with the strategic plan.
  • Facilitate a strong communication plan between leadership, markets, and other business segments to remove obstacles, improve responsiveness and facilitate prompt, efficient decision making.

  • Works with RVPs, market presidents, product team, and actuaries to develop and manage bid operations and process, exercising strong working knowledge and sound judgment of organizational levers impacting growth, margin, expansion, and PBP strategy.
  • Assists in creating a clear vision for the future direction of the organization by informing and managing bid process.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key department stakeholders (between Business Optimization office, RVPs, market presidents, product, actuary, stars, etc.) across teams, functions, and locations to enhance planning, leverage reporting opportunities and improve processes.
  • Serves as a liaison with stakeholders (between Business Optimization office, RVPs, market presidents, product, actuary, stars, etc.) in other functions to communicate and coordinate on issues of mutual interest.

  • Partner with Finance and Actuary to deliver transparency of economic assumptions across the cycle of the bid season and continued into planning cycle

REQUIREMENTS

This role is Work from home (WFH) which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
