Edelman Global Advisory is a newly launched standalone international advisory firm within Edelman, the world's largest public relations company. We're searching for a motivated and globally attuned self-starter to join our Washington, D.C. office. Our clients range from government agencies and advocacy organizations, to established Fortune 500 businesses seeking our assistance to persuade audiences on the most important issues facing society. These issues range from regulation on technology, to issue advocacy on topics like modern day slavery.

Edelman is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join the Edelman Global Advisory team inD.C. While there's no "typical" day in this role, we are looking for a team member who can roll with the punches and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this role requires someone who is invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and thinking creatively on behalf of brands and their executives.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer and account manager with a diverse set of skills and abilities in earned media, social media,research, and executive positioning/thought leadership.We are also looking for someone who stays up to date with current events, including political issues. Experience in local or federal legislative branches is a plus.We're seeking candidates with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to push our thinking, share fresh, innovative ideas,and elevate the quality of counsel we deliver for our clients.

As a member of the broader Advisory Practice, this candidate will also serve as a mentor to junior staff and interns.

*This position is open to the Washington D.C. as well as virtual/remote.*

Responsibilities:


    • Support day-to-day account management and serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing issues thoughtfully and effectively

    • Manage multiple projects from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence

    • Ability to effectively monitor the news landscape daily while applying key learnings and findings to client work

    • Thoughtfully contribute to client counsel based on the internal and external landscape and business goals

    • Closely track communications marketing trends to bring fresh thinking and best practices to clients

    • Write in multiple voices and produce clear and persuasive, content, including messaging, media pitches, event submissions, and more to help tell client's stories

    • Take immediate action on client feedback and regularly track deliverables and deadlines for the account team

    • Help set the strategy for quarterly or annual communications plans, and content strategies

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Delegate to junior staff and help motivate and coach team members; manage up to senior staff and consistently provide feedback that helps drive efficiency

    • Contribute to business development, including new business and organic growth with existing clients

    • Coordinate with other discipline experts and practices (e.g., paid media, creative, planning, crisis, corporate) as needed

    • Excel at detailed analysis and fast-moving project management, showing attention to detail and ability to navigate multiple projects and stakeholder groups simultaneously

    • Thrive in an independent work environment, demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and effectively coordinate with people at all levels in an organization

    • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills

Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree preferred

    • Strong understanding of and demonstrated experience in strategic communications or public relations, with 2+ years of relevant full-time experience

    • Experience on the hill or working with advocacy or grassroots organizations

    • Positive, collaborative attitude

    • Strong organizational, scheduling, and time/project management skills; possess the ability to multiple deadlines simultaneously

    • Demonstrated ability to delegate and accurately judge and edit the work of others

    • Must demonstrate excellent writing and verbal communication skills

    • Possess advancedabilityto usethe Microsoft suite of tools -PowerPoint, Excel,Word, and Teams
