Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Baltimore, MD that is seeking a Staff Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• The Staff Accountant will file monthly sales tax and use tax returns for numerous states and localities


• Handle our Avalara sales tax portal and review monthly sales tax reports


• Track various licenses, including business licenses, sales tax licenses, and certain tax forms


• Manage our corporate auto allowance program


• Manage of our entire fixed asset portfolio, including depreciation entries and related schedules for owned property, and assist with capital expenditure budgeting


• As a Staff Accountant, you will manage our corporate fleet profile for owned trucks, tractors, trailers, and forklifts


• Track our general assets on a quarterly basis by working closely with the individual branches


• File quarterly Commercial Activity Tax and Gross Receipts Tax forms


• Process customer refunds as needed


• Research and correct discrepancies, and send the customer invoice file to BillTrust daily


• Handle the filing and documenting of all insurance claims, and work with the insurance company and various team members to obtain resolution


• Handle corporate credit applications requested from potential vendors


• In this role, the Staff Accountant is responsible for several accounting-related functions, such as month-end general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and review of accounts payable invoices

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting required


• Candidates qualifying for this position will have similar experience along with the skills and abilities to perform the duties mentioned


• Any relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
