Manufacturing Operator D - 2nd Shift at The Ames Companies, Inc. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

PURPOSE: Affix brace wood to pallets, stack Parts Boxes onto unitized loads, tape load tags to unitized loads, load and maintain EZ Match Labeler, Parts Box, Banding Machines, and Case Sealer. Operate Dart Printer by wanding in appropriate bar code from binder.

EQUIPMENT: Conveyors, carton sealer, EZ Match Labeler, Banders, nail guns, hand tapers, Dart Printer

MATERIALS: Parts Boxes, labels, banding, nails, sealing tape, brace wood, load tags, printer ink

WORKING PROCEDURE:
1. Scan appropriate bar code for Parts Box being produced
2. Set up and operate case sealer - exchange rolls of tape as required
3. Affix brace wood to pallets as required.
4. Palletize Parts Boxes from conveyor or skid for bulk or unitized loads.
5. Inspect components as required for conformance.
6. Label Parts Boxes as required. Set up and operate EZ Match Labeler (both sides)
7 Band Parts Boxes as required. Set up and operate Banding Machines (2 on line and spare)
8 Attach appropriate load tag to finished pallet
9 Keep equipment and work area clean.
10 Perform elements for both positions when other operator is maintaining, adjusting, or changing machines to satisfy schedule.
