Avionics Systems Integration Engineer at Garmin International in New Century, Kansas

GPS Manufacturer/Distributor

We are looking for a full-time Avionics Systems Integration Engineer to join our aircraft systems engineering team located at our hangar in New Century, KS (greater Kansas City area). In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the design of avionics systems installations and wiring interconnects. 

Essential Functions

• Generate wiring diagrams, wiring routing schematics, component installation drawings and other type design data required to support STC projects


• Assist installation technicians in troubleshooting installation wiring interconnects


• Assist in preparation and verification of new installation documentation


• Assist in generation of certification ground and bench tests plans


• Assist in creation of certification test reports and other compliance data for submissions to the FAA

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university AND one year of relevant experience, or above equivalent experience. 


• Detailed working knowledge of aircraft wiring diagrams, wiring routing drawings and the content required on those drawings for FAA certification


• Demonstrated solid understanding of commercial avionics interface standards and their installation


• Must possess proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products


• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision


• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment


• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication

Desired Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of relevant experience 


• Bachelor of Sceince in Electrical Engineering
