Job Description:

Job Purpose:

Lead the user acceptance activities to support the release of web development to production. This spans all platforms (Desktop, Tablet & Mobile) across all of Avnet's digital properties. The role works cross functionally with the Operations and UX teams, but also with GIS, Marketing and Sales to ensure that development projects are ready for launch and optimized to drive overall sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead the development of test plans for approval to support release of all web development to production

  • Lead the user acceptance testing against agreed test scripts and within agreed timeframes

  • First line validation of BAU/Fault Fix request to ensure commercial suitability

  • Drive the timely resolution of functional faults across Avnet websites and ensure solutions meet business needs

  • Monitor web issues using defect tracking tools, investigate as appropriate, and own the resolution of defects

  • Manage, lead and develop a team of UAT specialists to ensure the successful execution and innovation of our web proposition

  • Overall ownership of web projects through the entire project lifecycle

  • Ownership of benefits articulation and realization

  • Demonstrate and Communicate benefits case's on a project-by-project basis

  • Supports change management initiatives.






Knowledge and Skills:





  • Advanced experience of system testing in a web environment

  • Demonstrable ability to provide executive testing updates on a regular basis

  • Ability to create and execute a system test plan on a project by project basis

  • Advanced knowledge of IT/eCommerce project lifecycles

  • Experience of working with and the creation of, business rules, functional specification documents and other relevant documentation for test planning

  • Experience working with global teams

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

  • Familiarity with typical web architecture

  • Ability to plan and prioritize own work effectively to achieve commercial goals

  • Advanced level of experience in managing complex stakeholders in a matrix structure

  • Experience in leading and developing a highly engaged team across the globe

  • Excellent communicator at all levels

  • Strong commercial acumen with significant experience of budget setting and management

  • Highly organized with significant experience in team leadership

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of functional scope of web projects so they can be successfully tested




Work Experience:



  • 5+ years' experience in an online service-oriented delivery environment

  • 5+ years in a technical and/or process area

  • Experience with project deliveries in excess of 500K

  • Experience in managing multi-disciplined teams across differing geographies

  • Demonstrable understanding of large scale eCommerce System Architecture

  • Experience w/IBM Websphere Commerce knowledge

  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies a plus




Education and Certification(s):



  • Bachelor's degree (Masters Preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, business or related field or equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience.
