Job Description:

SUMMARY


The Maintenance Technician will repair, maintain and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. The Technician will dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings; use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checks; rebuild manufacturing equipment as required; may perform equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers; performs work of low-complexity.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


* Perform repair and lead preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on Industrial machinery and assembly equipment, including industrial electrical control circuits - relays, sensors, switches, VFDs, temperature controllers, etc.; thermoforming machines, die cutters, molds, air compressors, CNC machines, ovens, material handling systems and other miscellaneous assembly equipment including: electronics, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components of machine tools, Fire pumps system, alarms, extinguishers, and predictive and preventive maintenance.
* Perform and lead repair work in specialty areas; outsource in specialty areas as necessary; maintain spare parts inventory for machinery and equipment assembly including service documentation, tooling, assembly equipment spare parts and equipment storage; order spare parts and tools, as necessary.
* Responsible for all aspects of maintenance including ensuring OSHA lock out/tag out procedures are in place/documented, 100% compliance with regulatory production & maintenance, (PMs), permits and codes.
* Alter existing equipment and determine alternate uses for equipment to improve and enhance results.
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs, procure parts, and properly tag out a variety of machine tools, (CNC) equipment, fixtures and tooling including: troubleshooting electronic circuits and PLCs, (Allen Bradley, CNC controllers), using schematics and OEM manuals while performing visual and audible inspection of equipment to locate causes of malfunction.
* Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.
* Communicate with internal and external technical support.
* Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servosystems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
* Perform other related duties, supervisory functions as assigned.
* Provide support and guidance to the department in repair work, installation, or adjustments.
* A Level III Technician will serve as lead and mentor to other Maintenance Technicians.
* Other duties may be assigned.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Providien, a Carlisle Company, houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: electrical, ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, low to moderate noise hazards, and powered industrial vehicle traffic.
These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs.
In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

QUALIFICATIONS

2-3 years of well-rounded maintenance experience in electronics, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.


GED required.


Vocational education in machine tool repair may be accepted in place of experience.


Understanding of electrical/ mechanical equipment. Ability to troubleshoot issues with guidance from machine operator. Conduct a routine PM of the machine.


Ability to use a variety of hand tools, and understand the "best tool for the job".


Basic electrical knowledge low voltage systems (110V-480V).
Ability to use a multimeter and troubleshoot electrical issues related to equipment and facility.
Basic understanding of electrical circuits and components.


II


Four (4) years experience in performing repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment.


Industrial equipment maintenance and repair experience, preferred.


GED required.


Certificate in Electronics or Electrical Mechanical Repair, preferred;


Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical Mechanical Repair, a plus;


Technical skills: ability to set up test equipment as defined by a documented manufacturing and processes; crossed trained on multiple types of equipment such as saws, lasers, ovens/furnaces and die cutting machines and thermoforming machine ideal but not required.

All Level II requirements, plus additional specialty skillset (e.g. electrical or mechanical, tooling).


GED required.


Certificate in Electronics or Electrical Mechanical Repair, preferred;


Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical Mechanical Repair, a plus;


Technical skills: all level II requirements.


Extensive knowledge of electrical controls, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components. Strong PLC experience.
Trained on TPM and servo motor a plus. Inventory improvement & organization within ERP system. General facility requirements.
Strongly prefer prior leadership experience.


* Communication skills: strong communication skills, including the ability to ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; communicate across organizational levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities; proficient English reading level to understand technical terminology used within the organization;

* Computer skills: proficient in MS Office; some ERP proficiency helpful.
