Job Description:

Infosys is seeking a Solaris Administrator with good working knowledge on Solaris. The role requires a close partnership and collaboration with other IT Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts.

Required Qualifications:
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Dallas, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with Solaris L3 Administration
• Must have at least 5 years of Solaris version 10/11 administration experience that includes the following:
• Solaris Zones, containers & LDOM management
• SMF management
• Perform OS Patching of Solaris, Live upgrades
• Zeta File System(ZFS administration)
• Shell scripting
• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Analyze and plan for the legacy Sparc servers life cycle management.
• Solaris Sparc servers Sizing and capacity planning
• Research and recommend innovative solutions wherever possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks.
• Working knowledge with Oracle Sparc hardware, vendor management and ability to Communicate technical contents of basic to advanced calls.
• Advanced problem diagnosis and troubleshooting skills along with critical thinking and decision making ability.
• Good exposure on - Incident management / Change management / Problem management
• Perform system administration activities for a large and diverse Unix platform primarily consisting of Solaris servers.
• Responsible for installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery, and performance tuning with proven knowledge of the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with Solaris Operating Systems.
• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project operational requirements
• Analyze and plan for the legacy Sparc server's life cycle management.
• Solaris Sparc servers Sizing and capacity planning.
• Research and recommend innovative solutions wherever possible.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with Solaris, and automation with shell scripting.
• Ansible experience us preferred
• Ability to work and solve high critical complex issues and prepare/produce RCA.
• Scripting using Shell Python or other programming language.
• Excellent Communications and client interaction skills along with exceptional written and verbal skills as well as technical documentation.
• Extraordinary Planning, Project Management, Coordination, and Analytical skills.
• Experienced in working in Global Delivery Model with onsite/offshore resources.
• Exceptional Organizational Skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Readiness to demonstrate a proactive attitude.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face.
