The Accounting Specialist position supports the Lead/Supervisor/or Manager by performing monthly account reconciliations, entering invoices, reviewing payments and invoices, performing account adjustments and creating and maintaining spreadsheets used in monthly reporting.  The position also writes and processes journal entries, assists in preparation of audit schedules and assists in research of monthly financial statements.


Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the preparation of monthly reports

  • Reviews payments and invoices

  • Inputs invoices

  • Compiles monthly account reconciliations

  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets, databases, etc. used in the monthly reporting and analysis

  • Performs tasks in monthly closing process as assigned, including preparation of journal entries, performing research and analysis, etc.

  • Prepares and enters account adjustments and accruals

  • Works closely with Lead/Supervisor/Manager to resolve any/all identified issues

  • Completes assigned account reconciliations monthly

  • Reviews monthly reports in connection with the assigned account reconciliations

  • Reviews invoices and payments to allocate to assigned accounts

  • Provides backup to mission-critical activities, special projects, and analyses as needed


  • All other duties as assigned by manager

Required Education and Experience:



  • High School Diploma or GED


    • College degree in a related field preferred


  • 1-3 Year’s administrative/clerical experience

  • 1-3 Year’s customer service experience

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Additional Eligibility Requirements:



  • Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings

Pay Range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour


Pay rate is dependent on education and experience.
