Business Line Description:

NXP’s ultra-wideband (UWB) technology enables secure ranging and precision sensing, creating a new dimension of spatial context for wireless devices. UWB technology processes contextual information to ease decision making and precise device management. The fine ranging and positioning capabilities of the UWB products bring precise location and convenience to a variety of use cases, including secure access control, indoor positioning, device-to-device communication and item tracking. In NXP, we work on the entire secured UWB platform that includes the hardware implementation and the software development.

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Interface with systems team to determine block specs and architecture

·         Perform advanced Analog/RF circuit design in leading CMOS technology nodes (below 40nm)

·         Sub-block and top-block ownership thru TO, chip verification and production

·         Perform layout floor-plan,  oversee layout of critical blocks, iterate designs based on parasitic extraction

·         Characterize and debug IC

·         Determine necessary ATE testing

Qualifications:

·         PhD w/ 5+ or MSc w/ 8+  years of experience in RF or Analog IC design in deep sub-micron CMOS

·         Deep understanding of high frequency circuits

·         Production experience with LNA, Mixer, PA, PLL, VCO, High Frequency ADC or DAC

·         Experience in baseband active filter design and power management blocks

·         Proven track record of completing complex designs on time

·         Experience in Connectivity (UWB, WiFI, BT/BLE) or other relevant wireless standard is a plus

·         A thorough understanding of the physical layout requirement and ability to perform the critical layout

·         Ability to comprehend the RF transceiver's system level requirements and to translate them into circuit level specifications

·         Knowledge on IC design CAD tools such as SpectreRF, Virtuoso, ADS, AFS, EMX and HFSS

·         Good lab testing skills to bring up blocks, debug and evaluate prototype units

·         Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
