What you will do 
Are you looking for the next step in your career and an opportunity to work with interesting products that promote safety and security? Johnson Controls Global Security Products Group ACVS, has a phenomenal opportunity for a QA Automation Engineer located in Westford, MA. You will be a key contributor to the test execution, test case development and status reporting of very large scale, mission critical, access control and security systems applications. You will work with all levels of the organization as a Test Engineer, as well as have the opportunity to use your networking skills to test control hardware. Your experience in test execution and related activities will be integral in our ability to enhance our core product capabilities.

How you will do it 

• Understands application requirements, write and maintain test cases according to functional and technical design specifications


• Write and execute regression tests


• Submit defect reports, analyzes patterns of defects for his/her features and help in finding resolutions


• Proactively review his/her test plans with other disciplines for completeness


• Automate test cases using UFT, C#


• Demonstrates ad hoc testing skills


• Follow test process diligently and suggest improvements to it


• Provide assistance to developers, test team and support personnel for troubleshooting customer issues


• Set up network and environments used to test the access control hardware

What we look for

Required

• BS in Computer Science or similar degree


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a QA discipline, authoring test plans, test strategies both manual and automated


• Understanding of hardware and hands on setup of environments including networks


• Experience in executing test cases using various black box/white box techniques


• Experience in automated testing


• Knowledge of software development & test life cycle


• Experience with Selenium, JavaScript or JASON

Preferred

• Knowledge of the following OS’s – Linux, Windows


• Experience with databases, backup/restore, creating VMs, installing operating systems and software a strong plus 


• Familiarity with SQL, XML, XSLT, IIS, VMWare, Hyper-V, .NET, WireShark or similar technologies 


• CCNA or Network+ certification


• Experience with access control panels, reader, keypads, video and other access control hardware
