Software Engineering Senior Manager - Express Scripts at Cigna in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey

The Software Engineering Senior Manager will support integrated pharmacy benefit management services including network-pharmacy claims processing; home delivery pharmacy services; specialty pharmacy benefit management, through its subsidiary Accredo. Benefit-design consultation; drug-utilization review; formulary management; and medical and drug data analysis services to manage drug plans for health plans, self-insured employers, and government agencies. This particular team works on prior authorization Pega BPM applications that serve customer care centers in performing drug authorization reviews requested by physicians.

Responsibilities


  • Mentor and coach engineering staff with their professional development and define and enforce engineering best practices.


  • Help to manage and plan work coming into the teams as well as work related to the teams


  • Coordinate with UI designers, our quality services organization, product owners, and other stakeholders to help define the optimal product.


  • Drive the removal of impediments that come to the teams.


  • Act as a strong advocate for the engineering teams.


  • A strong people manager with strong interpersonal skills and a history of elevating others.

Qualifications


  • High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.


  • Minimum of 12+ years in the software industry


  • Minimum of 8+ years as a people manager, scrum master, project manager, or similar role


  • Experience with mentoring others and helping others progress through their careers.


  • Experience with coding and/or software developer work is preferred.


  • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders


  • Experience with being resourceful to problem solve and managing conflict.


  • Experience with promoting the work of others and with recognizing others contributions


  • Previous experience in a software engineering role - with experience with both front-end and back-end technologies


  • Data visualization experience is nice to have!


  • Managing large team of 40 or more employees on and off shore a plus.


  • This role may be situated from your virtual home office, with travel up to25% as needed into the Morris Plains, NJ office location, or additional Northeast area office locations, as offices reopen. Flexible work arrangements may be available.


This role is located onsite which expects most work to be performed at a Cigna office location, but may allow for some work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite. Currently, due to the pandemic, we are encouraging all employee to remain working from home and all onsite meetings require a virtual option. However, we expect that this role will likely return to being performed primarily at an office location.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $126,400 - $210,600, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
