Marketing & Communications Manager

Location: US

The Marketing & Communications Manager is a utility player, skilled collaborator, and innovative creative who will play a major role in planning, managing, and delivering client communication engagements and a variety of marcom projects for the Sustainable Business Division (SBD), including supporting the development and growth of the Communications Services offer under the SBD umbrella.

This position will require a high producing, exceptionally versatile, wickedly smart, and collaborative yet candid individual contributor who can pivot on a dime, manage multiple projects at once, and work successfully with both internal and external stakeholders at every organizational level, including CxO.

This individual will initiate and drive marketing and communications projects ranging from the creation and delivery of exceptional quality assets to clients, to narrative and messaging development, to the planning and execution of marcom strategies. The individual will partner closely with sales, client management, operational, and marketing teams to drive value-added activities including proposal development, operational delivery of services, marketing asset development, and thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities


  • Client Engagement: Think like a business owner to help drive rapid growth of new high-demand Communications Services offer.

    • Engage with the top brands in the world to help tell their sustainability story, using our industry expertise to enhance their existing marketing reach.
    • Support client scoping and contracting process with sales teams and offer acceleration with marketing team.
    • Engage in client project management and delivery to the satisfaction of the client and client manager (projects may include, but are not limited to, press/media engagement, executive talking points, scriptwriting, video and creative asset development, slideware development, ESG/investor reporting, program development and launch, and strategy development).
    • Provide strategic counsel on the topics of energy, sustainability, renewable energy, social, and climate positioning, messaging, claims, goals, and communication strategies.

  • Marketing & Communications Program/Projects: Serve as a "Swiss army knife" to lead MarCom projects across the SBD organization and in collaboration with broader Schneider Electric.

    • Apply deep and evolving understanding of energy and sustainability markets to position current and future communications to manage SBD messaging, address market demand, customer pain points, promote brand awareness, and drive business growth.
    • An aptitude for and skillset in graphic design is particularly desirable. These skills will be used to ensure our assets are effective and compelling (including pagination layouts, graphics, slideware, etc) for both internal and external use.
    • Independently manage all aspects of marketing/communications projects and activity to the satisfaction of internal/external stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Constant and matrixed interaction with internal/external stakeholders to ensure prompt/flawless execution of all activity.

    • Coordinate deployment with a range of other departments across Schneider Electric.
    • Activities may include, but not be limited to: reviewing sustainability messaging/positioning for accuracy, outlining/drafting/editing energy and sustainability oriented content, representing SBD on cross-functional work teams/projects, acting as a liaison to other Schneider Electric teams, and developing executive talking points/content.

Essential knowledge, skills, and qualifications


  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere) with demonstrated expertise in graphic design. Proficient in Microsoft tools with advanced and demonstrated skill in PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience working with and influencing wide range of corporate stakeholders, up to and including C-suite.
  • Strong project, client, and meeting management skills, with experience using workflow management and collaboration platforms like Box, Monday.com, and Teams.
  • Candidates must demonstrate specific expertise in sustainability/renewable energy communications, climate action, and/or ESG reporting with a track record of delivering high value to customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive asset development and creation, including synthesis and translation of complex topics and creation of compelling messaging/value propositions.
  • Experience/comfort working in fast-paced, demanding, unpredictable, and hybrid-to-fully remote global work environment while successfully engaging and managing stakeholders virtually.
  • Personal qualities such as: initiative, ownership, independence, accountability, drive/passion, perseverance, persuasion, cooperation, relationship building, attention to detail and timelines, reliability, intellectual and emotional intelligence, innovative thinking, creativity, and curiosity.
  • College or university degree, and 7-10 years' experience desired. For an exceptional candidate, 5-7 years' progressive experience will be considered. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Writing, design work, and presentation samples must be provided.
  • This position may require periodic domestic and global travel.
