Our Ecoservices division is on the hunt for an Operations Specialist for our Baytown, TX plant.

This position is accountable for the day-to-day safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the site and is responsible for both the Operations and Logistics departments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist Operations Manager in hiring, training, and developing Operators & Loaders, promoting accountability culture on site.
Work with Operations Manager to document hourly recognition and/or discipline.
Oversee daily operations.Address current issues and opportunities to improve by coordinating with Maintenance, Lab, Logistics, HS, Environmental.
Set Operator and Loader work schedules.Review & approve timecards and vacations
Make field observations daily, and commend or correct observations as needed
Ensure all log-sheets, inspections checklists, start up and shutdown checklists, and SOPs are current, accurate, understood, and well utilized.
Monitor daily raw material and finished good inventory levels, and forecast future levels.
Set daily production rates.Write daily production and shipping instructions.
Write work notifications on equipment issues found.Review, edit, and approve site's SAP work notifications into work orders
Coordinate priorities of work order with maintenance department through Planning and Scheduling meetings
Prioritize/authorize daily work order Break Ins to maintenance schedule
Oversee shutdown, work execution, and start up with emphasis on safety, schedule, and quality.
Support planning, execution, and documentation of turnaround activities.
Drive shop floor equipment ownership and engagement.
Track and respond to quality trends to make sure unit is consistently producing on specification product.
Enforce site standards and best practices such as equipment labeling
Review monthly safety inspections performed by operators and loaders
Review operator log sheets daily.
Manage water treatment program, including semi-annual program reviews.
Review water treatment logs daily.
Lead daily MDI Meeting
Lead daily Production Meeting
Periodically serve as On Duty Supervisor
Supervise contractors as needed

Understand and support continuous improvement through RC14001 and Ecovyst 20 Principles.
Ensure timely resolution/completion of Safety Work Orders
Responsible for employee safety.
Ensure employee compliance with HSE Expectations.
Recognizes and encourages good safety behaviors.
Attend and periodically lead Plant Wide Safety Meetings
Attend and contribute to weekly Wed Safety Surges
Be present in the work area to recognize and address HSE issues with employees, contractors and visitors.
Conduct field audits such as HSE Tours, My Check 5 Leadership, Shipping Audits, LCP Audits, and housekeeping.
Encourage open discussion of safety concerns in the area and then follow through to a timely resolution with feedback to the employees
Understand Life Critical Procedures.
Serve as guarantor over implementation of them in your area of responsibility.
Lead/facilitate weekly/monthly department safety meetings take place
Ensure housekeeping is to high standard
Ensure waste is properly labeled in compliance with local regulations
Ensure next day lockout tagout (LOTO) and permitting activities are well organized and right first time.
Organize routine and tabletop ERT discussions with operators and loaders
Requirements:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills
Basic computer skills (MS Office, SAP)
Working knowledge of chemistry principles such as pH, density, pressure, and material compatibility
Basic knowledge of labor law
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Effective safety attitude and understanding of safe work practices.
People, coaching, coordinating, and facilitating experience/skills. Preferably 5+ years.
24/7 continuous manufacturing experience. Preferably 5+ years.
Knowledge of regulations including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Coast Guard, including PSM/RMP.
Working knowledge of sulfuric acid technology & best practices is a plus.
