The Production Assembler is responsible for fabricating, assembling, rebuilding, inspecting, and testing cable & harness assemblies, electromechanical subassemblies, and placards for In-flight Entertainment and Connectivity products to meet requirements for: schedule, design, quality, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical specifications and detailed technical instructions for the purposes of fabrication, inspection, and test.
Fabricates, inspects, and tests cable & harness assemblies
Programs, fabricates and inspects placards & labels utilizing labeling machines
Troubleshoots, rebuilds, inspects, and tests cable & harness assemblies and electromechanical subassemblies
Follows material and inventory control policies and processes including documenting, transacting, and counting material
Conducts and documents preventative maintenance and/or calibration of various shop equipment
Detect and alert supervisor on problems relative to existing methods, tools and techniques
Other duties assigned by Leadership
Required Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required; some college or vocational education preferred but not required
Ability to pass the IPC A-620A certification course
One (1) year of related experience
Pass the Hazardous Material Training Course
Capable of working flexible shifts including, nights, weekends and holidays
Must be flexible and willing to work any area in Production or Materials as necessary
Valid, unrestricted Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States or ability to obtain one
Regular attendance and punctuality
Ability to read technical literature, follow oral instructions and communicate with cross functional team members.
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets Thales’ insurance standards
Valid Airport Security badge or the ability to obtain one
Must pass a 7year background check and drug test
Experience with MRP analysis and methods using an ERP System, SAP preferred
Certification: APICS CPIM/CSCP or ISM CPSM a plus
Physical Demands:
Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently. (Medium)
Hand/finger fine motor skills and dexterity required to handle small parts and to operate hand tools. (Frequent)
Special Position Requirements:
Requires rotation between all shifts as well as weekend and holiday work
Position often requires ability to work overtime and flexible schedules
Production, Distribution Center and Repair Station environment may present elevated noise levels
Driving conditions dependent on weather variations
Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally
