***This role will be Remotely Based, but with a location preference near our Corporate Offices in McLean, VA; Memphis, TN; or Dallas, TX***

What will I be doing?

As a Lead Platform Architect, you will be responsible for technical architecture, development, and strategies centered around Hilton's third-party distribution environment. You will partner collaboratively with Architects, Developers, Testers, Product Leads, and major third-party travel agencies to implement and evolve solutions that enable Hilton to maintain its position as a leader in Hospitality.


  • Support of design, development, testing, and implementation of software including ADM code changes for the API web portal & API Engineering apps and technical vendor oversight for API Engineering team applications
  • Building and maintaining Java and React JS based applications & tools
  • Work in an Agile framework with architects, developers, testers, release engineers, and other engineering teams to improve QA testing, application performance, reliability, code quality and consistency, delivery, and velocity
  • Provide level 3 production support by solving Incidents/Problems and participating in continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure core principles and standard methodologies are followed throughout the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions
  • Participate in tool selection, implementation and problem solving
  • Provide strong business domain knowledge and API store expertise
  • Understanding the API Framework library
  • API Gateway knowledge

  • Ability to articulate/explain architecture to non-technical staff, co-architects, developers, and third party clients

  • Optimally balance multiple platforms, teams, assignments, and priorities
  • Learn new technologies and expand skills
  • Communicate optimally both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of professional work experience in Technology
  • Five (5) years of experience with large scale applications in Java and Javascript
  • Three (3) years of experience in architecting solutions for enterprise software products
  • Experience with REST APIs
  • Comfortable with travel up 25% of the time

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 10+ years of Technology related experience
  • Nine (9)+ years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Previous hospitality experience
  • Strong experience with Global Distribution Systems and/or Online Travel Agencies
  • Ability to develop/maintain close relationships with a large number of Travel Agencies and understand the unique needs/functionality behind each of them
