HR/Training Representative at alphabroder in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Without knowing it, millions of people wear apparel and accessories distributed by alphabroder. Consumers may not recognize the company's name, but clothiers and promotional agencies certainly do. Whether the item is a company golf shirt, a T-shirt from a rock concert or a souvenir shirt from a vacation destination, chances are it has passed through one of our many Distribution Centers across North America.

Overall purpose of this position:

The HR/Training Representative conducts a broad spectrum of employee training programs both technical and developmental to enhance skill and optimize intelligence of the companys human capital at the facility level and corporately. Additionally, this position provides Human Resources service and support in the form of employee relations, benefits administration and other duties as directed by the facilitys Human Resources Manager to meet the needs of the facility.

Major activities, which must be performed in order to carry out the purpose of the position as described above:

• Assist in assessing, proposing, and designing, developing and implementing training programs.


• Implement centrally distributed training programs.


• Maintain training materials, documentation, and facilities.


• Document and maintain appropriate on-the-job training records to ensure accountabilities with established guidelines.


• Follow-up with training efforts to evaluate training effectiveness using a four-factor evaluation process.


• Recommend, design, develop and implement training aids to simplify and enhance the training process.


• Provide feedback to regarding identified needs and operating status of all training programs and Certified Trainers at facility level.


• Recommend revisions and/or additions to existing training programs for all departments.


• Provide support to HR department, as needed in all benefit administration areas: Medical, Dental, Life, and Short-Term Disability.


• Maintain an active role in employee relations including the development and implementation of programs.


• Maintain interaction and working knowledge of all departments through scheduled work periods within each area.


• Interact with employees, Supervisors, Managers, and the DC Manager to maintain an awareness of training needs.


• Participate in and/or direct safety committee.


• Provide assistance on other projects as directed by HR Manager and Corporate Human Resources.


• Participate in corporate-wide initiatives, which may include travel to other facilities.


• Serve as a member of the Human Resources and DC operation team, providing assistance as needed.

Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position. Identify specific concepts, courses, training programs or required certifications.

• 4 Year College Degree preferred


• 3-5 years of relevant work experience


• Strong working knowledge of distribution center operations and/or call center operations


• Demonstrated leadership abilities


• Strong verbal and written skills


• Positive, upbeat attitude


• Able to work flexible schedule


• Able to work independently


• Able to work and speak comfortably and effectively in front of groups of employees from various levels as well as strong platform skills


• Demonstrated proficiency of PC and Microsoft Office


• Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate training material


• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws preferred


• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner


• Read, write, speak English


• Bilingual Spanish preferred
