What You Will Do
The Embedded Software Engineer Project Manager will join the Firmware Engineering team at Johnson Controls based in Milwaukee, WI. This individual is responsible for a broad array of products, including sensors, thermostats, actuators, refrigeration controls, and HVAC equipment controllers. As a member of this team, you will be leading global engineering teams in our new product development efforts. This position requires in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques. Candidates must have demonstrated experience managing resources across multiple projects of varying complexity, while working with diverse, multi-disciplined project teams. This role could be remote for the right candidate, however, may require occasional travel to Milwaukee, WI.
How You Will Do It
In this role, you will work closely with the engineering team to develop product firmware, coordinate verification testing as well as integration with the hardware. You will also work with other parts of the organization to gather product requirements, support field trials and to support manufacturing ramp-up.

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
5-10 years experience related to embedded software and/or firmware design, of which at least 2 years must be in project management
Experience developing real-time embedded software
Familiarity with RTOS
Familiarity with hardware
Familiarity with both waterfall, agile and SCRUM methodologies
Familiarity with risk assessment and management, and the SFMEA process
Demonstrated experience leading and influencing individuals and teams without formal organizational control
Ability to manage multiple projects, potentially changing priorities and effectively coordinate activities across teams
Preferred
PMP certification
MS or MBA degree
