City Experiences is seeking a Marine Craftsmen for our City Cruises operation in Marina Del Rey.

About the Opportunity:


This position has responsibility for fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of all vessel and general facility furnishings


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, fabrication on passenger vessels. This includes but may not be limited to the following tasks. Tasks will be assigned with consideration to the employee’s skill sets, career experience, and the needs of the company while administered by the Outfitting Supervisor and welding listed below.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company owned dock side facilities, docks, piers and buildings.

  • Assisting the Outfitting Supervisor with movement and installation of Marine Equipment, Construction Materials, and tools.

  • Vessel and dockside facility plumbing repairs to pipes, valves, tanks, piping, appliances and pumping systems.

  • Vessel interior and exterior painting preparation and painting. This includes descaling then painting vessel decks, hulls exterior and interior, topside superstructures, interior walls ceilings and floors.

  • Welding preparation, fabrication of new and repair of structures, welding of various metals in repair or new fabrication.

  • Carpentry and craftsmanship of interior joinery, walls, ceilings, decks and all other building materials found on passenger vessels.

  • Documentation and monitoring of maintenance and repair work through the company web based and structured maintenance and repair program as requested and assisted by the Production Manager.

  • Participate in computer and mobile phone-based monitoring and input of maintenance tasks, work hours, and company training and documentation programs.

  • Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.

  • The Marine Craftsman must work in a safe, methodical and consistent manner under the direction and guidance of the Outfitting Supervisor, performing or learning to perform the tasks outlined by the Outfitting Supervisor.

  • Work the hours and shifts assigned by the Production Manager. The Production manager will make efforts to balance these shifts and occasional overtime with every employee’s need for rest, relaxation, and family time.

  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.

  • Conduct yourself with a positive and contagious attitude for others to emulate.

  • Keep the (PM) and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.

  • Holds yourself and all employees accountable to the Environmental, Safety and Quality Respect and SMS systems of the organization and to work closely with the Manager of ISO/Respect & Training to implement such systems, plans and control of records and documentation.

  • Other Duties as assigned.


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • Must have experience working in the marine or construction field

  • Experience working on construction sites and with power tools

  • Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures

  • The Marine Craftsman must have been or is currently being trained in a field that lends itself to the job of personally accomplishing motor vessel machinery troubleshooting, maintenance and repair. One or more of the following areas of training and expertise are required for this position.

  • USCG licensed Marine Engineer with hands on experience and proven mechanical aptitude.

  • Unlicensed engine room machinery technicians if having prior training and experience on motor vessels such as work boats, tugs, fishing vessels, passenger vessels, or vessels of the U.S. Armed forces

  • Diesel or heavy machinery mechanics from and trades institution, U.S. Armed forces, or other industries that require hands on repair of engines and engine related systems.

  • Basic computer skills as well as the ability to safely communicate with others in the English language.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to travel to jobs at different sites

  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
