Job Description:

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS :


  • Plans, directs and coordinates through subordinates in the Accounting, Financial Systems and Financial Reporting functions.
  • Plans, supervises and assists Accountants in performing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes to properly record, classify and control financial transactions for Lake Tahoe Properties.
  • Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation and interpretation of all financial information for Lake Tahoe Properties, including financial statements, budgets, forecasts, daily financial information, financial statements and Corporate reports, daily operating statements and other reports as required.
  • Reviews all tax and license filings and periodically verifies the integrity of the preparation process.
  • Responds to the needs of Operations Management at all levels for special reports and interpretation of financial results and related systems, as well as potential problem areas.
  • Maintains the security of all accounting reports and sees that all appropriate records are retained for required lengths of time.
  • Accepts responsibility for the implementation of new financial applications critical to the property and Division, and the property operating budget process.
  • Establishes and maintains financial accounting procedures sufficient to ensure compliance with the regulation and mandates of all governing bodies, both internal and external.
  • Coordinates all financial systems' maintenance with I.T. Development and Operations Management and recommends enhancement to existing and new systems.
  • Establishes acceptable accounting procedures in revenue recognition, expense control and reporting sufficient to effectively control the assets of the company.
  • Assures timely responses to internal and external audit recommendations. Assures that corrective action plans are developed and implemented where needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • Four year college graduate with a major in Accounting or equivalent (CPA desired)
  • Three to five years of accounting or related experience, preferably in the gaming industry, with one to three years in a supervisory capacity; several years of public accounting experience with gaming exposure preferred. Should possess a strong background in financial systems and gaming financial statement preparation and analysis. Should possess a background in automated accounting and control systems and be familiar with gaming regulations and controls.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Knowledge of computer software
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations
  • Familiarity with current, generally accepted, accounting principles and current pronouncements related to them
  • Literate and fluent in English
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
  • Acts as a role model to other Team Members and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures

PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:


  • Ability to grasp, finger dexterity, use repetitive hand motion
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Visual and auditory range must include immediate environment.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.

Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
