Job Description:

As a Occupational Therapist at Nystrom & Associates, you will be a vital part of a multidiscipline team that includes Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Therapists.
We are a team of mental health professionals that specialize in psychiatric evaluations, clinical social work, and family therapy. We are committed to helping patients in our community who are experiencing personal, emotional, marriage, family or psychological problems. Founded in 1991, we offer an intensive outpatient substance use disorder program, psychological testing, and behavioral health and medication management services.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide Occupational Therapy Services:
Work with children, teens, adults, and family systems from diverse backgrounds Complete thorough evaluation, standardized as well as checklist and observational, including but not limited to muscle tone, range of motion/mobility, perceptive/fine motor skills, handwriting, social skills, self-regulation, sensory motor processing and functional activities of daily livingDevelop individualized goals for each client (with input from family members) incorporating functional abilities with the objective to increase daily living skillsConduct 1:1 treatment sessions with clients who have a variety of psychosocial, cognitive, and/or motor difficultiesEducate and demonstrate therapy techniques to parents that can be used in a home program and help families be successful in implementing a home therapeutic programMaintain communication with referring physician through progress reports and other forms of communication as neededResponsible for timely documentation of evaluation results, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and insurance authorizations and justifications as needed Assess and make recommendations regarding the use of adaptive equipment as needed.Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and continuing education courses as appropriate or required
Professionalism:
Maintain all HIPAA regulations and strict confidentialityDress and present yourself in a professional mannerCurrently credentialed with major insurance companies, or willing to become credentialed (Nystrom and Associates will assist in this process)Maintain professional competency by completing CEUs in the area of Occupational TherapyAdhere to Nystrom and Associates policies and procedures
Education and Experience:
Masters Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy programPediatric experience preferred (will consider new graduates with pediatric fieldwork experience)
Licensure:
NBCOT certification as an OTRCurrent MN licensure (will consider a new graduate willing to apply for a temporary license)

Skills and Qualifications Required: Have a working knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy and assessment tools used in the evaluation of infants and children, be compassionate and understanding, have great communication skills, be a team player, have good time management skills, be able to work independently, have basic computer skills, and physically be able to participate in handling and floor activities with children. Able to lift 10-25# frequently; 25-50# occasionally; and over 50# rarely and with help.
Schedule: up to Full Time, flexible hours; able to set your own hours based on case load and your desired schedule (Monday Friday).
