The Team

We are seeking a Manager of Sourcing to join American Tower's U.S. Tower division’s Supply Chain team. The team strategically sources quality materials and services at the lowest total cost while enabling effective and efficient purchasing solutions and enhancing supplier partnerships. Day to day you will implement effective category and commodity strategies, ensuring the availability of goods and services. As a Manager, you will manage, train, and develop a team of sourcing support professionals. You will coordinate workloads and assign them to support various sourcing group categories and projects.

• Negotiate favorable strategic supplier contracts with the best terms and conditions; manage contract compliance.


• Lead the resolution of major issues and align stakeholders and external vendor expectations to facilitate win-win scenarios.


• Lead structured analyses of the supplier industry, economics, and market conditions for assigned commodities; keep teams up to date about key market indicators, commodity trends, and market intelligence.


• Manage the total costs of the supplier relationships and participate in supplier scorecard evaluations and benchmarking.


• Administer and verify that corrective actions established through supplier quality metrics, scorecards, and audit reports are implemented for key underperforming suppliers.


• Contribute to the creation of team policies and processes and maintain supplier master policies and structures.


• Identify areas for system enhancements; lead technology development efforts for new functions and tools.


• As a Manager, you are responsible for the recruitment, performance management, and career development of a sourcing team composed of sourcing leads and sourcing specialists.


• Manage the work assignments of sourcing leads and sourcing specialist to assure efficient project completions and professional development.


• Cultivate a collaborative team dynamic that enables us to meet our business objectives.


• Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, or Supply Management, required; MBA preferred.


• Minimum of five years of professional Supply Chain and/or Strategic Sourcing experience required.


• Management experience required.


• Wireless telecommunications industry experience, including sourcing, construction, and/or operations, preferred.


• Professional certification(s) such as CPM, CPSM, or CPIM preferred.


• Approximately 10% travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.


• Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for yourself and a team to meet requirements and deadlines.


• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.


• Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate team a to achieve results.
