Electronics Hardware Verification Engineer

This is a position in the hardware development group with the responsibility of designing, developing, and performing feasibility, verification, and validation testing of new implantable medical devices such as pacemakers, cardiac monitors, neuro modulators, and implantable defibrillator platforms. The scope of effort is broad in nature and may include development of product requirements and design of manual or automated tests to ensure new products meet the requirements and are in regulatory compliance. The scope also includes the design, fabrication, and assembly of hardware tools to assist in the verification and validation of new circuit applications. This individual will be a key technical contributor in a hardware design role in direct support to Micro Systems Engineering USA as well as in collaboration with Biotronik design centers worldwide.

Your Responsibilities


  • Develop requirements for new implantable medical products such as pacemakers, cardiac monitors, neuro stimulators, and defibrillators.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews to ensure new products meet hardware requirements
  • Define and develop test protocols to verify that new products or hardware concepts meet the product specifications and are fit for the intended use
  • Perform and document feasibility and verification tests to ensure new hardware designs meet the hardware requirements and systems specifications.
  • Provide technical support during feasibility and prototype phases of the hardware development in support of manufacturing.
  • Design, fabricate, and assemble hardware tools to support hardware verification and validation.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in design capabilities and technology.

Your Profile

Minimum Qualifications:


  • BS Degree in engineering in the field of Electrical engineering.
  • Strong focus on high quality and high reliability in circuit design.
  • Strong technical skills with 4 to 7 years experience and a proven track record in the development of low voltage, low current circuits in one or more of the following areas: analog, digital, high voltage generation, or BLE.
  • Strong analytical skills and well schooled in the application and use of computers, analysis and synthesis tools.
  • Strong design skills in CAD with minimum 1-2 years experience.
  • Strong communication skills including both verbal and writing skills.
  • Strong team player and individual contributor.
  • C# or other OOP language experience.

Other Highly Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience in the medical device industry, preferably in the implantable device industry.
  • Background in Cardiovascular Physiology and Biology to understand end application environment.
  • MS Degree in engineering in the field of Electrical engineering.
