Wood is currently seeking a Senior-Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer to join our NW team. We have offices in Portland, Oregon and Kirkland or Lynnwood, Washington, and offer a flexible working environment. You will lead, and be part of a team completing civil and water resources engineering projects, including preliminary engineering, design, plans-specs-estimates, bid-phase support, and construction-phase support. Our projects are related to civil, grading, surface and stormwater, and infrastructure. Recent examples include natural / stream channel restoration, large fish-passable culverts, stream stabilization, regional water quality facilities and civil grading. You will also supervise engineering staff and help lead business development activities and proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Design projects; prepare feasibility and design reports, construction drawings, specs, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects
Provide construction-phase services (observation or management)
Work collaboratively with environmental staff and permitting regulators and other Wood offices and teams
Support business development efforts for targeted clients including existing and new opportunities
Support proposal preparation including technical approaches and pricing
Manage multi-discipline project deliverables including quality, schedule, and budget
Prepare and perform client presentations
Support Wood's first-rate commitment to health, safety, and the environment in all our work
Skills / Qualifications
Skills / Qualifications
BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field; prefer coursework and experience in water resources
Registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in Oregon and/or Washington
10+ years relevant engineering experience (15 + preferred) with related activity
Strong technical expertise using software and other tools we use including AutoCAD and Civil3D, and other programs including: HSPF; FLO-2D; DELFT3D; FLOW3D; SRH-2D; EPA-, XP- and PC-SWMM; HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS, and HydroCAD
Experience working with client mix of federal, state, and local agencies, and private corporations
Demonstrated experience in:
Engineering design including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Technical writing and presentations
Project management including budget, schedule, and deliverables
Leadership of engineering staff
Preference for surface-water experience
Valid driver's license is required
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Wood's driving (MVR) policy
Up to 10% travel is possible with this position
