Velex SI, Inc. is hiring a Horizontal Directional Drilling Crew Technician in the following area(s): Coppell, TX.
Velex is currently looking for a Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Crew Technician to join our growing team.
What You'll Do:
Assist the drilling crew to include, but not limited to: site layout, clearing, excavation, foundations/slabs, prepping job sites, trenching/conduit installation, pulling conduit, potholing, aggregate roads/compounds including job site restoration, opening sending and receiving pits for drill machine, back filling potholes, vacuum drilling mud, cleaning equipment
Pick-up and deliver supplies, tools, HDD equipment, Mini Excavator, dump trailer, conduit reels etc., via company vehicle (towing trailer if applicable)
Responsible for the upkeep of all company-issued tools and equipment
Maintain and/or submit complete and accurate files/logs/reports as determined by supervisor and/or other management personnel
Develop and maintain a positive company image, both internally with fellow employees and with customers
Provide superior customer service, ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner
Adhere to all driving requirements as determined by State and Federal regulations
Adhere to all company and industry (i.e., OSHA) standards/regulations including practicing safe work environment with PPE gear
Maintain clean and presentable vehicle at all times
Other duties as assigned

The Skills and Background You'll Bring:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and 1+ year(s) recent construction, electrical, technical or mechanical experience
Prior experience working with an HDD crew preferred, but not required
A valid driver’s license with an MVR record that classifies you as insurable
Ability to drive long distances on and off-road and to tow trailers
Flexible to work shift work to include maintenance window and weekends if needed
Must possess the ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions
Must be able to follow all safety policies and procedures while contributing to and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
Ability to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required
Ability to sit, stand, and stoop for extended periods of time
Ability to work in various working conditions, including extreme heat and cold weather
Must have accurate hearing, speech, vision, and color recognition
