Job Description:

Are you looking to put your strong, heavy civil construction estimating skills to use while building roads and bridges? Austin Bridge & Road is currently seeking a Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to be located at our main office in Irving, Texas. We excel at what we do and are looking for talented construction professionals that want to excel with us.


 


Duties


The Estimator will perform a variety of professional estimating duties related to developing estimates and procuring work for heavy civil construction projects. Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, preparing construction budgets from cost estimates, and handling contract administrative paperwork are some of the responsibilities in this role.


 


Responsibilities



  • Estimate preparation and bid submission

  • Contract risk analysis

  • Business partner relationships

  • Budget preparation and buyout

  • Quantity take-offs

  • Preparing estimates up to $200,000,000

  • Schedule and manager resources required for estimating and bidding process

  • Review cost estimates of others to assure compliance with plans, specifications and jobsite conditions.

  • Security of shop drawings and building materials samples

  • Cost accounting for materials owner billings


 


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related degree

  • 8+ years’ experience working on heavy civil construction projects plus 5+ years' experience of estimating

  • Must have experience estimating projects in the heavy civil industry and/or TxDOT or DOT from another state

  • Knowledge of HeavyBid by HCSS or other Estimating software
